Compost Happens

There’s been lots of talk about composting recently, but has anyone really taken the time to break it down for you? (hehe… get it?). Well, that’s what we’re here for… Check out an easy and effective way to stop from sending 4.5 lbs of garbage, per person per day, to the dump.

Great video. I have been wondering how to get started. thanks
Matt, thanks for the nudge- I’ve always wanted to try it but inertia won out. Knowing our town there is likely an ordinance that says if and how we can do it. After I check that part out I want to try it this year.
Have always heard horror stories about the stinkiness in the heat of the summer- true dat?
Thanks for the comments Doug and Uncka J.
Inertia’s a sonofabitch, ain’t it? My old boss used to use physics when it came to things like that… just start. An object in motion is infinitely easier to move than one at a dead stop.
There’s no problems with the smell for us. If there is? It’s one of 2 reasons, it either needs to be turned or it’s because you’ve got too much greens in there stinking it up, just add some brown (dirt most likely) and stir it. Problem will be solved.
Not sure what your backyard looks like, but many people start by simply throwing food scraps out in the back of their yard. It all composts, just at different speeds.
